Not to overstate, but QEST can be helpful to everyone. QEST is very helpful for anyone who has had a head injury of any type, including even ‘minor’ car accidents or whiplash. It is effective for people with almost any physical condition causing pain or discomfort, whether acute or chronic, including complex, systemic issues. Although people may not come with the intention of addressing other aspects of their well-being, many are pleasantly surprised to find that their sleep is improved, as is their mental clarity and emotional stability. Many clients come to QEST who have not found relief with traditional western medicine and who are seeking a more holistic, noninvasive way to support their health and well-being. QEST is highly effective for babies, children, adults at every stage of life, and animals as well. Many long-term patients come regularly for maintenance, as QEST can be instrumental in maintaining overall health and wellness.
No. QEST can help to support your body so that it can heal more easily, but it does not replace or conflict with treatment you may be receiving elsewhere. QEST should be thought of as one component of a healthy lifestyle, along with key pillars including nutrition, sleep, exercise, and potentially, other therapies, whether medical, surgical, or other complementary therapies. QEST may actually enhance the efficacy of other care you are receiving, helping it to work better or to cause fewer adverse side effects, such as the effects of chemotherapy. QEST can also be very beneficial as an adjunct after surgery, as it can facilitate rapid healing and reduce pain.
Note that QEST practitioners can not diagnose conditions, and QEST is not a substitute for medical therapy.
QEST may bear some outward resemblance to other forms of energy work - like Healing Touch or Reiki, a QEST practitioner uses one’s hands to transmit energy. QEST also shares understanding of the chakras, meridians, and the energy body with traditions including acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

However, QEST’s methods of identifying and treating points or systems are based on a completely unique body of knowledge and set of principles. In practice, whereas Reiki might be compared to a searchlight, QEST procedures can be thought of as the fine point of a laser beam, affecting a very precise target.
We love to connect with clients in person and treat people at our Denver or Littleton offices when possible. However, when in-person care is not possible, remote work is an excellent option. During QEST sessions, the practitioner is identifying energetic disruptions in the body and performing procedures (with touch and breathwork) to clear those disruptions. This work happens at the energetic level. Quantum science today recognizes that we are comprised of vibrating energy, validating what QEST (and other energy systems) have long recognized: it is possible to direct energy and promote healing, whether by direct touch in person, or by conscious intention at a distance. During remote QEST sessions, your practitioner will rely on self-muscle testing to direct treatment, whereas during in-person sessions, you will be muscle tested directly.
Acupuncture uses fine needles to stimulate points on the body, whereas QEST does not involve the use of any needles. All treatment during QEST is done via very light touch at specific points on the head, face, or body. QEST and some types of acupuncture share understanding of energetic channels in the body, and both systems recognize certain points on the body that can be used to treat major organs. However, QEST incorporates many principles and techniques not found in acupuncture. QEST is also unique in its use of muscle testing to determine very precisely what each person needs in the moment.
QEST was developed by a group of chiropractors in the 1970s who thought there must be a better way than for patients to have to return again and again to treat the same aches and pains. The founders sought to find a method that would last, such that treatments would not need to be repeated over and over. As the work evolved, QEST techniques were developed to address misalignments in a more gentle manner than traditional chiropractic techniques. When clients come with structural problems, QEST is able to address the full spectrum of what may need to be addressed - fractures, misalignments, ligaments, muscles, circulatory concerns, and more. QEST is able to help realign vertebrae that may be misaligned, but it never uses sudden movements. Rather, QEST practitioners use much more gentle pressure and breathwork to help release any misalignments.
Sessions are held in Littleton, CO and last about 60-75 minutes each. You’ll be lying down on a massage table, fully clothed. Your practitioner will perform muscle testing, usually using your arm, to communicate with your body and get ‘answers’ or information about what is needed. The muscle testing will involve pushing on your arm to obtain answers (not hard, promise!). QEST ‘procedures’ are generally done with a very light touch. The first session or two will focus entirely on craniofacial work; this entails light touch to specific spots on the head and face, often with directions for you to breathe with your practitioner. This craniofacial work is foundational work that is essential for the rest of QEST sessions to be effective. After the craniofacial work is completed, the work will progress to the rest of your body over time.
1) The work is highly structured in that there is a progression that has been found to be highly effective. Your sessions will begin with essential foundational steps that systematically help you to receive energy and move it through your body.
2) QEST practitioners are trained to use muscle testing in combination with tapping ‘codes’ to discern information and answers from your body.
3) QEST practitioners are trained in anatomy and physiology as well as the QEST principles and techniques. Each corrective procedure done is highly specific to the part of the body or system that your body indicates is needed via muscle testing.
Some people and some conditions may take longer to respond, while some people and conditions will respond very quickly. Just a few examples where people tend to respond quickly include:
• pulled back muscles
• TMJ pain
• fractures
QEST practitioners rely on muscle testing to know how to treat each person. Your practitioner will use muscle testing at every step along the way to confirm whether a certain procedure needs to be done, where, and the timing/other details. Your practitioner does not ‘heal’ you. Rather, each QEST procedure is essentially reminding your body to pay attention and bring energy to a certain area that has been disrupted and needs to return to its natural state of balance (clear energetic flow). Your practitioner’s hands act as something of a traffic cop, reminding your body to pay attention and send some extra TLC, so to speak – but it is your body that does the healing.
Everyone is different, and unfortunately there is no way to predict how quickly you may experience results. In some cases, a chronic condition may take weeks or months to address, while someone with a pulled muscle may feel relief the same day or the next day. That said, regardless of why people initially try QEST, many people report sleeping better right away, and some do experience dramatic improvement quickly. Some people report improvement after just the initial foundational sessions alone. It is important to know that QEST is a structured system that builds on what was done before, so the best results come from advancing through the work. The further one moves through the system, the better one’s results will be.
Quantum energetics refers to the understanding that we are all comprised of energy and interconnected at an energetic level. There are many modalities today that contain the word ‘quantum.’ In fact, this work was formerly called Quantum Energetics some years ago. However, QEST has evolved since it bore that name and today is a unique and standalone approach taught by the Quantum Energetics Institute (https://www.quantumenergeticshealing.com/)in Fort Collins, CO. Importantly, QEST differs significantly from other therapies that may include ‘quantum’ in their names.
The answer to this is a resounding It Depends. The frequency of your visits will depend on your health condition(s), how often you would like to come, and practical issues of budget and scheduling. Many new clients will schedule weekly or biweekly for the first 6 to 8 sessions in order to move forward in the work and more quickly address the concerns for which they are seeking treatment. If that is not practical, it is also fine to schedule sessions less frequently - the benefit of what has been done before will not be lost in any way. Some patients schedule about once a month, especially once they have begun seeing results and there may be less urgency. On the other hand, some conditions such as cancer benefit from frequent treatment, i.e. once or twice per week, initially. Some long-term clients choose to schedule QEST as maintenance therapy roughly once a month, or perhaps 4 to 6 times per year, as a preventive approach toward their health.

"We are slowed down sound and light waves, a walking bundle of frequencies tuned into the music of the cosmos; we are souls dressed up in sacred biochemical garments, and our bodies are the instruments through which our souls play their music."
---Albert Einstein
